Despite the fact that Lawry’s Prime Rib is a major chain with restaurants elsewhere, this 70-year-old steak house is a Beverly Hills original and a major right-of-passage for generations of visitors (especially those attending the New Year’s Rose Bowl games). The classic Lawry’s menu has expanded over the years but the must-try fare is still the standing prime rib and that famous spinning salad (yes, they actually spin it while they make it). If your parents are in town and you want to show them how far you’ve come in life, Lawry’s is your move.

Nate & Al’s Deli
This restaurant has previously extended its lease and rehired some staff to once again do delivery and takeout, but the future under Covid remains uncertain during the post-Pandemic.
Nate ‘n Al was started in 1945 by friends Al Mendelson and Nate Rimer. Many of the original recipes are still used in the restaurant today, and over the years the deli has earned many accolades. LA Weekly ranked the deli’s matzo ball soup #1 in the magazine’s “Top 5 Matzo Ball Soups in Los Angeles”.[1] CBS/Los Angeles ranked the deli’s Corned Beef Reuben Sandwich on its list of the “Best Reubens in Los Angeles”.
